  1. How We Use Collected Information.

ProVantage may use information collected to provide a safe, efficient and customized experience. The following are some of the details on how this may be accomplished:

To Manage the Service.  We use the information we collect to provide our services and features to you, to measure and improve those services and features, and to provide you with customer support.  We use the information to prevent potentially illegal activities and to enforce our Terms and Conditions for Use.  We also use a variety of technological systems to detect and address anomalous activity and screen content to prevent abuse such as spam.  These efforts may on occasion result in a temporary or permanent suspension or termination of some functions for users.

To Contact You.  We may contact you with service-related announcements from time to time.  You may opt-out of all communications except essential updates on your account settings page.  If you do not want to receive commercial email or other mail from us, please indicate your preference during the registration process or by making a modification on your account settings page.

Service Providers.  We may engage third party service providers to perform functions and provide services to us.  We may share your private personal information with such service providers subject to confidentiality obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy, and on the condition that the third parties use your private personal data only on our behalf and pursuant to our instructions.

  1. How the Information We Collect May Be Shared.

No Information Selling.  We do not sell or rent your personal information or content to anyone.

Aggregated information. We and our agents may share aggregated demographic information with our users, our affiliated organizations, and other organizations with which we do, or contemplate doing, business with.  Such information is aggregated and is not linked to any information that can identify individual users.

Business Transfers.  In the event that ProVantage is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction.  The promises in this Privacy Policy will apply to your information as transferred to the new entity.  We also allow access to our database by third parties that provide us with services, such as technical maintenance, but only for the purpose of and to the extent necessary to provide those services.

Legal Compliance.  We may preserve or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect ProVantage’s rights or property.

  1. How We Protect Your Information.

Steps We Take to Keep Your Information Secure.  We keep your account information on a secured server behind a firewall.  When you enter sensitive information (such as passwords), we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).  We also use automated and social measures to enhance security, such as analyzing account behavior for fraudulent or otherwise anomalous behavior, and we may limit use of site features in response to possible signs of abuse, remove inappropriate content or links to illegal content, and/or suspend or disable accounts for violations of our Terms and Conditions for Use.

Risks Inherent in Sharing Information.  Although we take appropriate measures to protect your information, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.  We cannot control the actions of other users with whom you share your information.  We cannot guarantee that only authorized persons will view your information.  We are not responsible for third party circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures. You can reduce these risks by using common sense security practices such as choosing a strong password, using different passwords for different services, and using up-to-date antivirus software.
